Start with the available room

Ask to see the room on the girls’ floor that is actually available. Check the number of occupants, bed and cupboard space, bathroom access, natural light, ventilation and mobile reception. A photo or a room on another floor may not represent your room.

The most useful question

“Is this the exact room I would move into? If not, may I see it?”

Look closely at safety and access

At Johri PG, the girls’ PG and boys’ PG are on separate floors in the same building. During a visit, ask to see the girls’ floor and have the team explain how access works. Separate floors are one detail to consider alongside the day-to-day safety arrangements.

Questions to ask on your visit
  • How is entry to the building and the girls’ floor managed?
  • What are the visitor rules, and who can enter shared spaces?
  • Whom should a resident contact if she needs help, including at night?
  • Where are the exits, and what is the emergency procedure?

Walk through the entrance, stairs or lift, and common areas yourself. Check the lighting and whether you feel comfortable using those spaces at the times you would normally come and go.

Understand the daily rules and support

Ask how entry times, late returns and overnight travel are handled. Find out who manages the floor, how residents report a repair and what happens if they need help with a problem. Clear answers matter more than assumptions about how a PG operates.

Get the full price in writing

Request the current price for the exact room on the girls’ floor. Clarify sharing, meals, electricity, cooling, laundry, Wi-Fi, deposit, notice period and refunds. Do not assume the price shown for another room applies to yours. Keep a written copy of the agreed terms.

Look at daily comfort

Ask about meal timing and dietary needs. Check the bathrooms and dining area, and ask how often shared spaces are cleaned. If you need a place to study or work, look at the available space at the time you would normally use it.

The Johri PG amenities list shows facilities at the property. Confirm what is available on the girls’ floor during your viewing.

Test your regular journey

Travel from the property to your college or workplace at your usual time. Check the walk between the entrance and transport, including the return journey if you often arrive after dark. Note the shops or services you would need during the week.
