Photos and a headline price are only a starting point. Use this list to inspect the actual room, understand the monthly bill and avoid surprises after moving in.
Tick each item as you discuss it with the PG manager.
What will I really pay?
Ask for the rent of your exact room and sharing arrangement. Confirm whether meals, electricity, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, laundry and cleaning are included. Add the deposit, any one-time fees and the notice period to your notes.
“What is due before I move in?” and “What is the usual monthly total after that?”
Johri PG has a published room plan. Check the current price and inclusions for the available room before booking.
Can I see the actual room?
Look at the bed, storage, bathroom, ventilation, cooling and mobile reception. Ask how many people share the room and bathroom. Inspect the entrance and the common spaces you would use. If a photo shows a different room, ask to see what is available now.
How will the day-to-day work?
Ask when meals are served, whether a sample menu is available and how dietary needs are handled. Check how often rooms and bathrooms are cleaned. Find out who handles repairs and how residents report a problem.
You can start with the amenities Johri PG lists, then confirm what applies to your room during the visit.
Do the house rules fit my schedule?
Ask about entry times, visitors, deliveries, holidays and overnight absences. Find out who manages the property and whom to contact if you need help. Johri PG has separate floors for boys and girls at one property; check the rules and facilities for the floor you would stay on.
Will the commute work every day?
Try the journey to college or work at your usual travel time. Check the walk from transport to the property and the return route if you often come home late. Look for the shops and services you expect to use regularly.
What should I confirm before paying?
Write down the room, sharing arrangement, monthly total, deposit, notice period and included services. Ask for the agreed terms in writing and keep a copy. If something important is uncertain, resolve it before paying.
